Find A Cheap Used Treadmill

Going out of your way to find a cheap treadmill instead of just buying one directly from an online retailer such as Amazon my seem like more effort that it is worth. You'll probably have to do a lot of leg work to find a treadmill that suits your needs, or at the very least you will have to spend a fair amount of time browsing the Internet.


It would be much easier just to log on to Google, type "cheap treadmills" into the search bar and quickly ascertain where was the best, cheapest place to get a treadmill. The pristine exercise equipment would arrive still in its original packaging without a mark on it. Of course you also get a guarantee with a new treadmill which has got to be worth quite a bit of cash in itself. There's nothing worse than buying a piece of electronic equipment second hand and have it breakdown on you within weeks of your purchase.

Its for this reason that I almost never recommend buying electric good second hand but why do I feel differently about treadmills?

When you go out and buy a PC or a Television second hand you will always be picking up something which has been well used by the previous owner. Most electrical products made these days only really have a short life expectancy so unless you are getting a great deal on something its usually best just to pass it up and buy a new model with a guarantee.

There are two differences between electric treadmills and to a large extent all other home exercise equipment with your regular electronics.

First of all find the best treadmill you can afford from one of the main manufacturers as it will have been made to last for years and produced with the very notion in mind that it is going to be pounded and abused by the owner on a regular basis. This means is you pick up a used treadmill which is a year old, even it hasn't been particularly well looked after it will still have plenty of life left in it. Coupled with the fact that you will get a huge discount on the price when new makes used treadmills a bargain when you know what you are looking for.


Secondly, and in my view more importantly is the fact that most people who buy home exercise equipment do so on a complete whim. They see and ad on the television or a friend points out that the treadmill is the must have item of the season and they rush out and buy one without a second thought. Obviously these people have too much money but that's not the point. The get the treadmill home and put it into place in their where it sits for 18 months without ever getting used. That is of course unless they purchased a folding treadmill in which case it will be discretely pushed under the bed and forgotten about 6 months after purchase. For these people a treadmill turns out to be a very expensive clothes horse which is unfortunate of them but could turn into the bargain of the century for us.

When these people finally get fed up looking at the unused metal ornament in the corner of the room they'll throw it up on Ebay and be glad to get rid of it at any price.

There's a few places you'll want to check when you decide you going to take the challenge and try and find a used treadmill for yourself.

First port of call and the most likely place to bring up a possible candidate would be of course, EBay. Online auction marketplace of the world, Ebay always has a huge number of barely used treadmills for sale.

You'll really want to find a treadmill that lives not too far from your home so you can go and have look at it before bidding to make sure the condition is good and also because many sellers will be unwilling to send a treadmill over a long distance. Cost can be prohibitive when sending such a large item anyway so this is not such a big deal.

As long as you don't live in Outer Mongolia you should have no trouble finding a good cheap treadmill close to your home.

I doubt you will fail to find something on Ebay as long as you aren't too fussy about what model treadmill you end up with. If however you are having difficulty find a treadmill there are a couple of other places you can try.

Local newspapers usually have a few pieces of home fitness equipment for sale which is in pristine condition, so take a look here. I often find that the people selling here have little clue to the value of the equipment they are selling so you can get some real bargains. You also have the advantage of not getting into a bidding war with several others how want the same machine. Pick up the local paper as soon as its published, go see anything you fancy and make the seller an offer before anyone else gets to see it and you'll probably get a bargain.

Your local fitness center is also a place where you can find used treadmills. The only problem here is that hte treadmill will be very well used, but on the flip side the equipment you get here will be commercial quality machines which are build to be bullet proof. Best to take someone along with you to check out the working condition of these if you see one you like.
