The 2008 Olympics are quickly approaching this summer. The time has come for athletes all over the world to shine and represent their country with glory. What does it take to get to this level of sports? Throughout history sports have been competitive and tremendously inspiring. From the time of the first Olympics in 776 B.C, athletes have diligently and rigorously prepared for the games. These individuals have committed themselves to practicing their sport for centuries in order to get satisfaction and recognition for their hard work. Athletes in all sports for years have worked hard at their expertise to reach their ultimate goal of being regarded as the best at their profession. In a time of technology the hard work of athletes past was left in the past.
This is now the age where the hard work is too hard to do. Some athletes of this age have decided to take time into their own hands. The fun sports had in the past have seemingly gone out the window. Athletes today are considered to be money makers. They do whatever they have to do to succeed and this is considered to be acceptable at the business aspect in sports. Athletes are money makers, and do whatever they have to do to win even if that includes cheating. Baseball, basketball, football and even cycling have been known for cheating scandals.
