With Christmas right around the corner and also the rise of health risk, it's always important to know what to check for when buying toys for your baby. In the past few years there has been an increasing amount of accounts that have found many poisonous chemicals in these toys. I'm quite sure that your are familiar with the numerous lead poisoning stories. Before buying anything for your child, it is always important to check the recall list. Here are some other tips that you should use before buying toys for your child:

  • Make sure each toy is sturdy, well-made, and appropriate for your child's age.
  • Don't let your baby play with toys that have sharp edges or points, or small parts.
  • Make sure parts fit securely and are not loose.
  • Read labels to check for safety information. Look for toys that are non-toxic, washable and hygienic.
  • Don't let your baby play with any toys that are smaller than 1 ¾ inches in diameter or 2 inches long, as these may pose a choking hazard.

Remember, your child is the most important person in your life. You always want to make sure that the child is safe and sound. Following these precautions will definitely help you keep your child safe in the long run.
