Cheetah Pictures - where to find them.

To find cheetah pictures on the web is to an easy task, but to find good cheetah pictures, that is another story. There are many available, but I always get the feeling they were taken years ago with some really old camera! Often they are blurred and dull. Have you found the same? I’m a photographer and when I see a bad photo I find it really frustrating! So I thought that I would put out some tips on how to take good cheetah pictures.

Firstly, it must be said that there are not that many opportunities to take good cheetah pictures, so you had better get it right the first time. Cheetah are shy and not easy to spot in the wild. Most of the classic cheetah pictures are taken in a conservancy or captive setting. When out on safari, ensure that you have a fast lens with adequate zoom. In particular a 200mm + lens. Ensure that the shutter speed is sufficient (in excess of 1/125). Also be aware of your aperture setting and the lighting conditions. This is basic photography, but in the moment and excitement when you see a cheetah, this is easily forgotten, leaving you with a great memory and bad cheetah pictures!

A final little tip on how to take excellent cheetah pictures is the use of a bean bag. Most of the time you will be in a vehicle and will have the opportunity to rest your camera on the window. Oh yes, ensure that your vehicle is off. The engine vibration exacerbates the blurring of cheetah pictures! So all in all, I have just put a few hints and tips out on how to take good cheetah pictures.
