Chennai Beach

The Chennai Beach also called as the Marina beach, is situated in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. The chennai beach is the second largest beach in the world. The marina beach attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world due to its beauty. The beach is busy especially at the evening, becuase lot of peoples hanout at the beach. The marina beach is famous for walking, jogging, aquarium and moreover it is a lovers spot. Bathing and swimming in marina beach is strictly prohibites due to the strong waves and less life saving measures adopted.

The Marina beach is the best place for evening time pass with family and friends. And a lot of food stalls are also available in the shores. The food items available here are fish fry which is the famous one, the smell of the fry attracts the passerbyes, bhel puri's, roasted ground nuts, and other food stuffs also to even have dinner in the cool breeze.

Beside the chennai beach, there is an aquarium. People visiting the beach will never hestitate to go to aquarium because of the attraction of a wide variety of aquatic life. The aquarium has a huge collection of fisheries, crabs, and several aquatic life that interest each visitors.

And one important thing to say, there are two memorials of the former chief minister of tamilnadu, Anna Durai and MGR.

Beautiful buildings in Chennai such as the University of Madras, Senate-House, Chepauk Palace, Presidency College, P.W.D office and Ice House are located on the beach drive. At the other end of the beach is the new lighthouse. In between, sentinels on the promenade, are several statues of Tamil scholars and two splendid bits of sculpture- the Victory of Labour and the Mahatma Gandhi.
