Tunic: You will need a lame tunic, ideally one which is extremely colorful. A rainbow lame tunic is perfect. Ideally, it should also be adorned with sequins in gold and silver.
Bell Bottom Pants: You will need a tunic that goes with the lame tunic. Ideally, do not choose a dark, staid color for the bell bottom pants. It is best if the tunic and the pants are perfectly matched. The flare of the bell bottom pants can be a different color to add a little contrast to the whole ensemble.
Head Gear: Ideally, you should also have a headband that matches with the tunic and the pants. That would be just perfect. If you are stitching the Cher costume for yourself, then you can easily spare a strip of cloth and convert it into a head band. If that is not possible, you may even want to consider a floppy hat.
Jacket: If you wish, you can enhance the look with a sleeveless fur lined jacket. This was considered high fashion at that time and Cher was seen using them very often.
Shoes: What you need is a pair of platform heels. Those suit the ensemble perfectly. However, you could also wear flats as they too were highly popular at that time.
Wig: Cher has made the long straight black hair look extremely popular and you may want to consider that for your look. Cher also has made the wildly curly red hair very popular, so if your hair is more conducive to that style, you can choose it.
Jewelry: To have the complete Cher look, you will need loud and large jewelry. Use large hoop earrings or large dripping earrings. You can also use a lot of gold and/or multicolored bangles on your hand. Finally, add a couple of long stringed necklaces or colored beads necklaces and you are all set to look like Cher come Halloween.
