Cherry Coke Salad

This salad can double for dessert, and is one of the favorites at our house. My wife claims she hates cherries, but she is crazy about this salad. One thing, make it ahead by a day, because it takes a long time to set up. 

Add these items to a large saucepan

1/2 to 1/3 cup sugar

3/4 cup boiling water

1 can cherry pie filling

bring to boil

add 1 large box of Cherry Jello Gellatin and stir till disolved

Add the following items

1 can of crushed pinapple with juice

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1 tablespoon Lemon juice

1 12 oz can Coca-Cola

Stir well

Pour into a serving pan or mold and refrigerate till set.
