I have caught the Volt Wave! While spending time on my Facebook, I found and became a fan of the Chevy Volt.

Chevrolet has set up an account to enable all to become familiar with their new protege. And what an amazing car they have set up. There are videos available that include a test ride given at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds for several attending journalists and EV enthusiasts. As with many taxpaying Americans I first became aware of this vehicle on one of the National news morning shows that purported that there is going to be a Chevy that would get 230 mpg. At first I was shocked! Wait a minute I thought, aren't we way behind in this technology? Nearly everything I had heard or read up to that point made me think so, especially when the automakers were asking for handouts.

The more I have researched this car, the more I love it! The only need for gasoline is to recharge the battery. To my mind, this could and should be replaced by some other energy such as solar or nuclear (think Iron Man). This would do away with using petroleum entirely. Of course that has huge implications for our Oil industry, but who isn't entirely done with them at this point?

I urge everyone who reads this posts to please check this out on facebook. Let them know how much you appreciate this product! Most of all let your national representatives in the House and Senate know that you expect more of this type of technology! This is most definitely the start of a new life for our auto industries and they deserve all of our support!
