The Chi Lin is a heavenly creature with body of a horse and head of a Dragon said to be the guardian of the heavenly gates. It has carp like scales on its body and a tail consisting of little curls. The Chi Lin is also believed to be the lord of all hairy creatures. The Chi Lin is regarded by Buddhists to carry the civilizing Book of Law on its back. The other names of this mythical animal are Qi Lin, Kei Loon, Dragon Horse or Chinese Unicorn. The Chi Lin Feng Shui Symbol represents strength, great ambitions, success, career luck, abundance, longevity, good health, perseverance, fertility and fame. This Feng Shui Symbol is also said to prevent you from being betrayed, cheated and suffering loss of some kind. The Chi Lin is supposed to have emerged from the yellow river with the mystic Ho Tu map on its back. The Chi Lin is normally depicted as standing or sitting on a bed of wealth like coins and gold.
A pair of Chi Lin can be placed at the door front on either side if the door is facing the lift, stairs or escalator to dissolve rushing bad chi. This Feng Shui symbol can be displayed in the house in the living room near the main door or in the east sector but without facing the door directly. Keeping this symbol on the North can help improve the Career Luck. The placement on the Southwest is good for luck in love, children etc. Northeast is the position which helps in children's education. Placing the dragon Horse in the southeast of your living room or dining room improves wealth luck. Keeping a Chi Lin on the Office Desk at work place facing out or in the South area brings good luck, advancement in career, success and helps in warding off harmful people and office politics. At the business premises this Feng Shui symbol can be placed near your reception and important areas of your shop facing out. However, remember that the Chi Lin Feng Shui Symbol should not be kept facing towards you.
