Whether its your first time to fly with your children or next time.

Here are a few tips on things that will help you and others have a more comfortable flight. Not everyone on airplanes is "kid" friendly. On top of that your stressed out enough having to fly with kids, get to your destination and make sure everything is in order. Alot to deal with. I would fly everyyear with my 2 boys since they were 3 months old.

I had to transfer at airports, have a stroller, carseat, etc, (by the way) charlotte South Carloina was the best airport when it comes to assiting moms and kids.

I went to my pediatrician first, some doctors recommend bynedril depending on the length of the flight and some dont, your childs dr. knows your child best and would be the first person to contact

. Next contact the airline and see what you can bring as far as drinks or snackwise on the plane with you, if necessary pay for the extra money and purchase a small meal if you cant bring anything with you.

If your child is old enough to chew gum, this is the best thing to bring for taking off and landing so that their little ears dont hurt so bad. Make sure to tell them to keep swallowing taking off and landing but not to swallow the gum. This will help keep their ears from popping. Or if you forget, ask the flight attendant upon boarding if possible to get a drink before taking off, this will help them too. For little babies, give them some juice or water.

Bring 3 toys, whether it is coloring books, gameboy, learning device (no sound), and a doll. Not everything your kid owns its to much to carry. Make sure the sound on your childs device is turned off. It can be very annoying to other travelers.

Also make sure before you travel that you let your child know how cute they are, but when they get on the plane not to be up in their seats bothering other travelers or kicking the seat in front of them. Explain that some people only get to sleep on the plane while traveling for work.

If your child becomes aggrevated during the flight, it is most likely because they are nervous, it is a different inviroment, they are stressed out too, and its hard for their bright little minds to stay contained for so long. If your not able to calm them down, take them to the restroom, point out different things in their compared to at home. This will seem somewhat comforting that they arent on a space ship......

Read to them, the sound of your voice is comforting to them. Dont let them get up and run around, let them know when you land that they are going to have time for that. Dont let them scream, or cry to long ignoring it as if they will calm down. This does not happen. Talk to them about their fears, and reassure them they will be at their destination soon.

Also if you are traveling with siblings whom love to fight , like mine do, sit between them. Keep in mind, the trip is stressful, but be prepared before you arrive at the airport. Let your little ones that know they are not the only ones on the plane, that you have to respect others.

And if you dont travel with little ones, be sure to bring your earplugs..........
