Children's Books That Never Made It To The Shelves
70When writing a children's book, an author must seek to create original ideas that will have a place on the bookshelf next to the great story book authors of the past.
Over time some boundaries have been tested in the children's book market. A Professor of Education, Author A. Sterl Artley made the most memorable first push when he authored the book Dick and Jane and the public accepted his published works without questioning the inappropriate and indecent reference to a girl and a mans genitiala. Had this book been published in todays society, very possibly the title would have been shut down and shut out. Understandably so because at the least it is more appropriate a title for an adult entertanment film at the worst, well we just do not name our kids books with a girls name and a mans genitiala.
Moving forward to today, boundaries are still being tested and books are still finding their way to the publisher for last approval before hitting the market. Below you will find some fine books that could bring entertainment and enjoyment to our youth, but unfortunetly it is felt that they do not yet have a place for our society.
To the children's book authors of the world keep trying. Perhaps in a few years your books will be accepted and add to the wonderful children's book collections we have come to love. As you can see to the right, the rejected list proves that even the most famous of childrens story writers did not have all their stories accepted.

Very nice hub. Children's books can make a difference, open up a dialog, and feed a child's imagination!
Is it just me or is this offensive?
