Canada's Ice Hotel
If you are the adventure traveler looking for a new experience, consider the Ice Hotel. Opened seasonally, the Ice Hotel is constructed next to the new Auberge Duchesnay Hotel, located on the banks of Lac Saint-Joseph. The remote location is the perfect getaway and the location provides for some very unique experiences.
Dog-sleddingon the frozen lake or staying at a custom made room inside the Ice Hotel. The best part about staying at the Ice Hotel is that if you decide that you just cannot get comfortable, the hotel always keeps a room open for all of its Ice Hotel occupants.
Because snow acts as a great insulator, the interior of the Ice Hotelis maintained between 2°C and 5°C (23°F to 28°F) regardless of the outside weather. This may seem cold still, and it is so everyone must go prepared for some chill factor.
Expect to pay between $300 - $400 a night depending on the package you choose.

The Ice Hotel is unique every year as artists are given the freedom to exercise their creativity in modeling the theme rooms and the wedding chapel. When they are finished the end resul is a 3 000 square foot hotel made of ice.
The Ice Hotel season falls between the beginning of Janurary to the beginning of April. If you plan on having your wedding inside the Ice Hotel Chapel remember that Québec is not like Vegas, you have to follow certain protocol well inadvance. Reservation packages are on sale year round and they should be made well in advance.

This is not for me, but for those who want some new to try..its great
Hal I know what you mean, this summer is a killer. I've got two air-conditioners running and hardly any relief. If only they could build these places in giant freezers.
Gerrie I think I would be one of those who would try to tough it out. Although, there would have to be a propane heater or something.
Wow -- looks cool! (-: I'd love to check this out next winter.
