It’s the night before prom. You look into the mirror as your brush your teeth you notice a giant zit in the middle of your forehead.  What are you going to do?  The prom pictures are going to be ruined because you are going to see this giant pimple on your forehead forever.  You may feel helpless at this time, but there is a home remedy for acne that will solve your problem.  What if I told you I knew of a guaranteed way to get rid of that zit in 24 hours?  Keep reading to find out.

Dermatologists Know Best

If you have ever been to a dermatologist for acne, you may have received cryotherapy.  Cryotherapy is the use of extreme cold to treat patients.  Dermatologists often use liquid nitrogen and a cotton swab to treat acne.  The doctor dips the cotton swab into a bath of liquid nitrogen, freezing the tip of the swab, then they dab the swab on each of the zits.  The extreme cold has two major benefits for acne suffers.  First the extreme cold kills any bacteria that might be in the zit.  Killing the bacteria keeps the area from becoming infected or inflamed.  The second benefit is that the extreme cold makes the skin contract and closes the pores, virtually eliminating the pimple.  The treatment does sting for a second, but when you leave the office with a clear face the small amount of pain is totally worth it.  The major problem with this method is that it costs hundreds of dollars to see a dermatologist and at 10:00 PM they usually are not open.

You can freeze that acne with a product you can buy at any drug store.  It is called “Freeze Off” by Compound W.  Dr. Scholl’s also makes a product called “Freeze Away”.  These are a new over the counter wart remover.  Now I know that you are saying; I have acne not warts!  Doctors use the same cryotherapy to threat warts, but now you can get the same products at home at a fraction of the cost of a doctor’s visit.  Both of these products work by freezing a cotton swap like applicator.  All you have to do is touch the frozen tip to each of your pimples and poof, they disappear like magic.  The other great thing about these products is that they give you up to 12 treatments for a reasonable price.

Caution is the Word

Now that I have told you how to treat your acne for those desperate moments in life, please use this information reasonably.  This treatment should not be used very often and you should always follow the directions on the packages.  Enjoy your clear skin.
