Why Travel to China?

China has been a location that I have longed to travel to for some time. The lure of the Chinese culture has many facets' that make China an attractive location. Here are some of the things I would like to do on my trip to China.

  • Visit the Great Wall of China. Who would not want to walk along this monument that is visible from a low orbit in space, but not from the moon as urban legend would have it.

  • Visit the Forbidden City, which is a symbol of China's past that I imagine would be awe inspiring

  • Visit the country side of China, preferably via bicycle, which is my favorite mode of transport.

  • View, but not climb Mt Everest; I wish I was in shape to think about attempting such a physical feat, but climbing Mt. Everest would surely kill me, like many others.

  • Visit the highly controversial Tiananmen Square.

  • Eat tons of authentic Chinese food. I have a friend who traveled to China when she was adopting her lovely daughter. She told me that there are so many regions and that each region has its own unique foods.

  • From the little contact that I have had thus far, I think the reason that I would love to go to China is the Chinese people. All the Chinese people I have met have been wonderful. To get to interact with actual Chinese people who have not been Americanized would be too cool.

  • Visit a Bamboo forest. Bamboo has long been one of my favorite plants, but here in Pennsylvania, we don't have ideal conditions for growing this grassy plant. In the spring, it is one of the favorites for my kids and myself to watch push its way out of the ground. The huge Bamboo trees of China along with its other plants must be a sight that any gardener would love.

Well that's a few of the reasons I want to go to China.

The first step in my travel to China is to get my passport, which is actually a goal for this year as well as last year. The next step will be to talk my wife into this adventure to China, which I really don't think will be that difficult since she already loves to travel abroad. She tells me as long as we can stop off in India, traveling to China will be fine.

How about you, would you like to Travel to China?

  • Online Marketing Conference in Chicago

We are planning our next trip and it will be to attend an Online Marketing Summit at the Hilton in Chicago on the 27th of May. Adam has never been to Chicago and I haven't been there in years. One of my best friends is from and still lives in Chicago with her husband and two dogs. The conference is only one day, so I'm hoping to have some time to take Adam to see all the sights of Chicago. We'll be spending the rest of our time working with my girlfriends' husband to do more training for search and online marketing.
