China Wholesale Scams how to avoid them on sight
68Can you really trust purchasing from China Suppliers?
This is a topic surfacing everywhere, and from my experience purchasing abroad is very dangerous. Is it a wonder that you can actually purchase a pair of Jordans that have not even been advertised here in the States direct from China for $28 or nearly nothing? There are so many of these sites out there with very appealing products ranging from shoes to electronics that seem really appealing to many in the market of starting home based businesses or selling on auction sites, but I wouldnt suggest usng any unless you want to be held responsible legally when someone files a complaint that your items are counterfeit because the products from many of these sites are indeed just that.
The sites I have encountered all request payment via Western Union or MoneyGram, some even do T/T and Bank transfers but ordering from them you run the risk of illegal items or not recieving your order once paid. Not many accept Credit card payments and nearly none accept paypal because you are protected using these payment methods.
Why are these sites allowed online? Know that many of these sites are shut down eventually but resurface days later with a whole new image but recognizable by any who have purchased from them in the past. This is one of the main problems in internet fraud because you cant do anything but lose money, your local authorities are useless in reporting a internet rip off from one of these sites and the scammers know this too well.
Some decide to take the risk of purchasing regardless of the warnings, thats why these sites are around and becoming bolder by the second. If you even suggest using a escrow service or paypal as a method of payment, they refuse your business up front.
Auction sites such as Ebay allow these sites to utilize their services as well, they turn the other cheek because its money in their pockets but if anyone catches on to a certain seller who has illegal products and ebay is threatened with exposure thats when they decide to shut down a seller, thats when the sellers powerseller status does not matter because evn though they have made money for ebay they have caused bad publicity which ebay does not go for.
The majority of the US population are walking around with counterfeit items on or either in there possession, many know they are but many also dont know. The only real way to purchase authentic items at wholesale is to purchase direct from the source, meaning verified suppliers or brand companies.
Here in the US it is illegal to buy or sell counterfeit goods no matter what they are,but in China it is widespread. I am not saying that it is legal in china because brand owners in China estimate that 15 to 20% of all well-known brands in China are counterfeit estimating their losses to be in the tens of billions of dollars. Counterfeiting is estimated to now account for approximately 8% of China's gross domestic product. China is also a leading exporter of counterfeit products to other countries not just the US.
The manufacture of counterfeit products tends to be concentrated in China's southeast region in coastal areas near Taiwan and Hong Kong. Criminal organizations in Hong Kong and Taiwan involved in smuggling, prostitution, and narcotics have now branched out into counterfeiting because of its lucrative nature. These criminal organizations supply the capital and start up costs and use the borders between China and their headquarters in Taiwan and Hong Kong to frustrate and elude law enforcement. China does not appear to have any current criminal laws that specifically apply to the export of counterfeit products.
So with this iinformation it is safe to say that China could use help from other countries to enforce specific laws regarding the selling of counterfeit goods online or offline. The fact that when a mention of internet fraud surfaces online that the number one mentioned is china with the united kingdom coming in at number two should be all to say enough is enough. I am not downing china because i dont believe that everyone there is a counterfeiter or involved in illegal activities but the main people that should be looked at are the ones in the high positions because they are more involved than anyone.
For the ones really interested in doing business legally here is a list of China companies to avoid. This is the short version list but any company you come across online direct from china please use caution checking for certain points mentioned in my blog.
