Chinchilla cages can easily be livened up with chinchilla toys, accessories, and essentials. Let's talk about what you can put inside your chinchilla's cage to to keep your pet happy, exercised and entertained.

There are two things all chinchilla cages should have inside them:

1. Like you need a bed, a chinchilla also needs somewhere to sleep. They like to have an enclosed dark space, so get it a wooden nest box or a grassy nest box.
2. You can get two different types of drinking container, you can buy a water bowl, or a water bottle that clips on from outside the cage with a feeder that goes inside the cage. I recommend the water bottle for hygienic reasons. With a water bowl all manner of debris can fall inside. A water bottle prevents this happening, and they are also more convenient for to refill.

• Chinchilla Wheel - just like hamsters, chinchillas also love having a wheel to run around in for fun and exercise. Take care to supervise the chinchillas first use of the wheel, especially if it's a baby to ensure it uses the wheel safely.
• Blocks of wood - to satisfy the chinchillas need to chew.
  
• Chinchilla Tunnels - These can be inexpensive - the cardboard tube from toilet tissue! Although of course, they may use this only as something to chew away to bits rather than a toy to run through and rest in. Or they may use it for fun and chew it up at the same time.
  
  If you want to get it a tunnel that will last a long time, you can get a chinchilla tunnel made from natural woven corn.
• Chinchilla Cage Hammock - chinchillas love jumping and climbing all over the place. A hammock is a very interesting addition to the chinchillas cage, and when they stop using it to exercise, they may use it for rest.
• Mineral fruit stone - as the name suggests these are hard mineral enriched items. Enriches with calcium to be specific. And as the name suggests they come in a variety of flavours. Great for your chinchilla to gnaw away at as well as getting some minerals to contribute to its health.
