Chocolate delight everybody love chocolate, here are some luscious chocolate treats for your next get-together. 

Chocolate Fondue
Chocolate Fondue


Fresh Fruits in Chocolate Fondue (Serves 6)

Ingredients

  • 1 – Pineapple
  • 1 – Mango/Apple/Strawberries
  • 250gms – fresh strawberries
  • 250gms – deseeded green grapes Fondue
  • 250gms – plain chocolate broken into pieces
  • 150ml – double cream
  • 2tbsp – brandy

Method

  • Using a sharp knife peel and core the pineapple, then cut into cubes.
  • Peel the mango/apples/strawberries and cut into cubes.
  • Arrange the grapes and the other fruit in 6 serving plates and chill.
  • To make the fondue, place the chocolate and cream in a fondue pot. Heat gently, stirring constantly, until the chocolate has melted. Stir in brandy until thoroughly blended and the chocolate mixture is smooth.
  • Place the fondue pot over the burner to keep warm.

Serving tip: Allow each guest to dip the fruit in the chocolate fondue sauce using a fondue fork or sticks.


Chocolate Rum Pots (Serves 6)

Ingredients

  • 225gms – plain chocolate
  • 4 eggs – separated
  • 6tbsp – caster (powdered) sugar
  • 4tbsp – dark rum
  • 4tbsp – double cream (full fat cream)

To Decorate

  • A little whipped cream
  • Marbled chocolate shapes/chocolate chips.

METHOD

  • Melt the plain chocolate and let it cool completely.
  • Whisk egg yolks with caster sugar in a bowl until fluffy
  • Drizzle the chocolate onto the egg yolk mixture and fold in together with dark rum and cream
  • Whisk the egg whites in a clean bowl until you get soft peaks.
  • Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture in 2 batches
  • Divide the mixture into 6 individual glass bowls of 100 m l capacity and chill for 2 hours before serving.
  • To serve, decorate with a little whipped cream if you like, and chocolate shapes.
