Chocolate Mousse

Are you a mousse fan? I am, especially of a good chocolate mousse. You really can't beat it when it comes to dessert. Now if you have never made a chocolate mousse it really isn't that hard. This hub has one of my favourite chocolate mousse recipes.

The Best Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Ingredients

500g dark chocolate Grated zest of 1 orange Juice of 3 oranges 60g butter 50ml Grand Marnier 4 egg yolks 3 egg whites 1 orange 6 tsp Grand Marnier for garnish

Method

1 Break the chocolate into the top of a double boiler. Add the orange zest and juice to the chocolate, together with the butter. Heat the mixture over simmering water, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate has melted. Remove from the heat and stir in the Grand Marnier.

2 Beat the yolks thoroughly. Strain the chocolate mixture onto the yolks through a fine sieve, beating constantly. Allow to cool.

3 Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the chocolate. Pour into six individual cups and refrigerate for two hours. Cut the orange into small segments and garnish the mousse. Pour a teaspoon of Grand Marnier over each, gently rotating the cup to ensure the surface is coated, and serve.

How often do you have mousse?
