Freedom to Live the Good Life

Did you ever stop to ask yourself what a home business opportunity and a travel network have in common? I hadn't either, really, until I joined Global Resorts Network.

The business involves making money and travel involves spending it. They have to occur in that order; you have to make money before you can spend it. There is a deeper connection, however, that I was not consciously aware of.

This connection is more symbolic than practical: both call forth visions of freedom, perhaps status, and living the good life.

Travel symbolizes those dreams of freedom: we go when we want to go, where we want to go, for as long as we want to go, with people who are important to us. Flying to our destinations, we experience the amazing freedom of leaving the earth. Or we sing the song of the open road as we travel in a more earthbound way.

Maybe travel isn't a part of your dreams. But it's probably a good stand-in for them. The only limited resources we have are time and money. We need to invest them in those things that are meaningful to us.

I'll bet that if you think about it, you will find strong, even passionate, emotions underneath the surface of your dreams too.

So What Does Global Resorts Network Have to Do with Any of That Stuff?

Sorry - I got kind of carried away there. You can see that I am passionate about this opportunity and what it is doing for me.

More practically, the resort membership company that is behind Global Resorts Network (GRN) has provided its members with startlingly low-priced accommodations in beautiful resorts all over the world for more than 20 years.. It was started as a way to make weeks at timeshare resorts available to members inexpensively at a time they wanted to go, avoiding not only the expense but also the inflexibility of timeshare ownership. That is what it has done successfully for over 20 years. Its mission is "to provide our members with exceptional travel experiences that exceed their expectations". Their success at doing so while maintaining superior customer service is attested to by testimonials. You can hear some of them by calling (712) 338-7906.

Global Resorts Network as a company is itself somewhat new. It was formed to give affiliates the opportunity to market memberships, which were previously marketed only through presentations.

You can hear some of this story by calling (712) 338-7903 to hear Chuck Tomlin, executive vice president of GRN, tell the story in an interview.

Income Potential

As the owner of a Global Resorts Network business, you have a huge income potential. There are people who have become millionaires through it. Affiliates have been known to make $250,000 in their first year - though this is the exception rather than the rule.

Demonstrably you can achieve a large income. But such an income is not guaranteed, and I am not suggesting that it is. Those who make a lot of money work hard at it to get it off the ground. Once established, they can reap some of the time benefits of owning a home business, but they continue to devote time and effort to keep their businesses operating efficiently and growing..

Tell Me About the Home Business Opportunity

By investing in a GRN membership, you will stake out your place in the $7 trillion dollar a year travel industry as well as in the busy and profitable Internet marketing space. Your most valuable tools will be your computer and your internet connection.

You will be able both to sell memberships to other people and to take advantage of the travel benefits yourself. But just so it's clear, you are under no obligation to sell travel memberships - or to travel to wonderful places, for that matter. There are many members who have joined strictly for the travel advantages.

The GRN business opportunity has one of the best pay plans (click to see an explanation of it) in the industry and probably the best in Internet travel marketing. Although there is a lot more to it than this, your commission is 33% of the membership purchase price - $1,000 or $500 depending on the plan. And, unlike most business opportunities, your GRN membership can be transferred to someone else - You can even leave it to a beneficiary of your estate.

Here Comes the Money!

Remember That It IS A Business

It seems worth saying this in a separate section: if you choose to take advantage of the business opportunity, it really IS a business. Money won't just fall out of the sky into your lap. Actually, your commission checks are delivered by FEDEX.

You will succeed if you treat it as a business; your rewards are directly proportional to the effort you put into it. Many people sell memberships part-time in order to supplement the incomes they make from their jobs. Others make enough money to say goodbye to their day jobs. If that is your goal, you can achieve it.

Your Team

You cannot joint Global Resorts Network without a sponsor. You can't choose your parents, but you can choose your sponsor. Choosing your sponsor carefully is critical to your success. Because your sponsor is your leader and should offer you training and other support to help you get your business started. You will also, therefore, have virtual teammates. You can choose to call on them for support as well.

In addition GRN offers support. The telephone numbers above (for the recorded testimonials and the interview with Chuck Tomlin) are part of that support. There are other telephone numbers for recorded calls that help you to learn about GRN and help you train your people when YOU become the leader. Most important, you can reach a live person for GRN support when you need it.

Due Diligence: Financial

If you are going to invest primarily for the business opportunity, as most people do, you will want to know something about the financial stability of Global Resorts Network. While it is a privately held company and not required to release its financial data, GRN is very stable so far as finances go. It has no debt, and it is growing rapidly. Business, in fact, is exploding.

The resort club for which GRN is the marketing arm has been in business for over 20 years. Further, it has been profitable for all those years. Its long record of profitability was for me the consideration that cemented my choice of Global Resorts Network as the business opportunity I wanted to invest in.

This means to me that it was making money prior to the rise of the internet. It sold memberships for $10,000 mostly through sales presentations at resorts. The Internet has clearly enhanced the capabilities of GRN, but it would and did exist without it for all but the last year of those 20+ years.

Management of Global Resorts Network

The management team of any business is very important. What is not true for management of many other discount vacation clubs, is true for Global Resorts Network. The principals (owners) and managers at Global Resorts Network have considerable experience in the time share industry. The President and CEO is Alfonso Morales. The Executive Vice President is Chuck Tomlin.

Due Diligence: Other Factors

In another article I wrote about some important things to consider when contemplating the purchase of a membership in a discount vacation club. I will address them as regards Global Resorts Network.

Cost: There are two types of GRN membership, platinum and gold. The platinum is a lifetime membership and sells for $2,995. Your commission, if you sell one of these memberships is $1,000. The gold membership is a 3-year membership and sells for $1,495. With this membership, the lowest priced week is $398, and sale of a god membership yields a commission of $500. Incidentally, the platinum membership sells for $10,000 when purchased at a sales presentation..

How the Club is Able to Offer Such Low Prices GRN has tremendous buying power in addition to long-time relationships with many of them. More than 5,000 resorts are in its directory. If a facility is not in the directory, the customer service agents will try to negotiate a discount price for you. That's real customer service!

You may look at the directory here. You'll need a user name and password, which are resort and look for, respectively.

The resorts are of generally high quality, usually having 3, 4, and 5 star ratings. There is also a diversity in the types of resorts offered. Beach resorts, ski resorts, lakeside resorts, mountain resorts and probably any other type that I have missed. So once you have chosen your location, look for the amenities you want. If you love to play tennis, you can see whether the resort has tennis courts. If you have children, you'll probably want to look for playgrounds and maybe child care services. And so on.

What Is Included in the Price Quoted Prices quoted for all of the resorts in the Global directory are per room per week and range from $298 to $799 in popular destinations. These prices offer huge savings. In fact, you can recoup you membership fee in a maximum of 3 trips and maybe fewer.

When you want to travel, you can spend a week at one of the GRN-affiliated resorts for as little as $298. The maximum price is $799 for a week at popular destinations. The resorts are generally 3, 4, or even 5-star facilities with many amenities. Except for the hotels in the GRN inventory, most of the accommodations are suites with living rooms, separate bedrooms and kitchens. Depending on what you choose, up to six people can stay in the same resort without an increase in the weekly charge.

You can choose different size suites to suit the number of people in your party. The largest has two bedrooms and for up to 6 people; the smallest is a studio for 2 people. Excluding hotels, most of the accommodations are suites and include living rooms, dining areas and kitchen facilities. These are shown in the directory listings.

The Club's Reputation GRN has an excellent reputation not only for its low prices but also for customer service. Since Global Resorts Network is a relatively new company (it is the marketing arm of a resort provider; the resort provider is over 20 years old), the Better Business Bureau doesn't say much about it.

Many affiliates have become affiliates after experiencing a vacation at a GRN resort, showing that its good reputation serves it well.
