When you're shopping for leather furniture, look for a leather that is top grain rather than a lower quality. Top grain leather is definitely going to be more pricey, but it is well worth the investment. Not only does high quality leather feel supple rather than stiff, but it will also last longer and be easier to repair should something happen to it. Once you've determined that a particular piece is made from a top grain leather, find out if it is well built. A wood frame and padding will be more comfortable and more stable in the long run than furniture with springs. If you experience any damage to your leather furniture, including scratches or fading, look for a skilled leather repair technician in your area. Make sure they are experienced and perhaps even ask for references to make sure their work isn't shoddy. However, if they know what they are doing, your furniture should look like new by the time they're done.
