After reading it through once, get up and do some chores or take a walk and think about what you have just learned. Later on, go back to it and complete the questions at the end of the chapter. Then go back and read it again. Memorize the vocabulary words and their meaning. Then go through the chapter again, highlighting the important parts you think will be on the test.
