Varying Eyewear For Every Occasion

Choosing just the right eyewear is no easy feat. Whether you are looking for prescription glasses for reading, sunglasses for snow skiing or beach lounging, or combat glasses for the military the choices are virtually endless. Not only that, but the prices can vary as much as the available selections. With that in mind, you may be hard pressed to just "run out" and pick up a pair.

Just a few years ago it was almost unheard of to buy prescription glasses on line. Today the ease with which you can purchase prescription eyewear on line is fast, simple and easy on the wallet. As long as you have your eyewear prescription and a fax machine the process can run quite smoothly.

If you simply need a pair for fashion, and vision correction is not neccesary, a prescription is not needed. Also, If you need a pair only for near vision, you only need a pair of reading glasses which do not require a prescription.

If you were a teen in the hay day of The Blues Brothers and Risky Business movies then you'll love the new styles offered by Ray-ban. On the other hand, if you're a trendsetter Prada, Versace or Christian Dior will probably better suit you.

When it comes to sunglasses and reading sunglasses, the number one thing to remember is how important it is to protect your eyes, so you will want to choose only those that offer satisfactory UV protection. A good rule of thumb is that the sunglasses you choose should block 99-100% of the UV-A and UV-B rays. Otherwise, the only other thing that is important is your taste and perhaps how much you can afford to indulge it.

For many in todays world we have to remember, are combat glasses. We don't often connect terms like eyewear and combat. But it is just as important, okay, more important, to have a good pair of sunglasses while serving your country as not.

Known as tactical eyewear, these sunglasses can be difficult to choose. The first reason being that they don't come cheap. Secondly, when choosing tactical eyewear it is essential that you buy the right glasses for the right application. Non-combat duty may only require that your glasses protect your eyes from wind and dust. Combat ready glasses are another story in that they must provide full shrapnel protection. Either way, these frames are strong and sturdy, even in the hands of a child. (That is saying a lot for eyeglasses)

There you have it - eyewear advice for every occasion. Years ago it was as simple as sunglasses versus prescription glasses. One size fit all. Maybe not, but I doubt your grandparents had so many brands, concerns to address, or high price tags to gawk over as today.
