Did you just recently watch the snooker world championship tournament? I did.I got hooked. First I didn't really respect the game. I thought that it was easy, and just something lazy fat british guys do. Then I tried to play it and was disappointed by the fact that I sucked, even if I am at a comfortable level at playing pool. Snooker was just way beyond me. It is impossible to describe how hard it is without trying it out.

Well watching the snooker WCT got me hooked and I started playing with my friends. As my skills developed I noticed that the snooker cues they offered at my local snookerhall were not that high quality. At this point you could say that I was addicted to the game. I started thinking of buying my own cue since the tips of the ones that I had played with varied quite a lot. That made my scores jump up and down. I really did not know what to look for in a snooker cue or how to choose a snooker cue and I started to search the internet for info.

As it turns out it is not as easy job as it sounds like. You just don't go to the shop and pick one that looks cool. You have to consider a lot of facts when choosing your cue. There are a lot of different materials from which they are made of. Hand made, machine made. Different types of woods and carbon. Three pieces and two pieces. The possibilitiies are endless. Prices vary from 20 dollars to 2000 dollars and there is a lot of quality differences even in the ones that have the same price. You have to make a decision of the lenght of the snooker cue and also the weight. Different types of players need a different weight cue. If you are tall, you propably need a longer cue. Lots of these questions can't just be answered with a simple yes and no. You need to take notice to so many different factors that you should not make a quick decision.

This is the game of the kings. No other pub game is so hard to master, and yet available for anyone to enjoy. Snooker can be played by anyone and in many places at all levels with any kind of equipment. If you are serious about your game: Get your own snooker cue!
