Choosing Your Wedding Party

Choosing your wedding party can be a lot more difficult than you expected. Most newly engaged couples are expected to choose their wedding party early on in the wedding plan. They are often questioned by friends and family who might expect a spot in the wedding party who the bride and groom have chosen.

This can be one of the most difficult decisions you need to make concerning your wedding. The best advice I can give you is to go with what you want. Don't tell someone they can be in your wedding party just because they made you feel like they should be in it. In the end you will end up regretting this decision and finding people who you really want in the wedding left out. Most couples have to choose the wedding party at least a year before their actual wedding date. So the big question usually is "What if I have different friends by the time of my wedding?" I think the best way to avoid any situation such as this one, is to think of family members that could be included in the wedding or friends that have been friends for many years. Family members are not going anywhere so they are usually the best choice.

Also, another option could be to include your closest friends and family members and leave an open spot for the possibility of a newcomer. Another thing you may want to consider before choosing your wedding party is if your selections are reliable. You may need help from your wedding party from time to time; need them to come together for dress shopping/fitting, tuxedo fittings. You do not want to end up with the person who is always going to arrive late or who will cancel out at the last minute when they are needed somewhere.

And the last thing I can think of to avoid is the person who may get out of hand at the wedding. You do not want a heavy partier who may end up drinking too much or causing any sort of trouble. If the person is in the wedding party, it will be much worse for this to happen from them than just a guest at the wedding. Remember, that this is your day and you do not want anything to stand in the way of it being perfect.
