There are many acne remedies out there, all claiming amazing results. However, many people find that it takes a couple of tries to find the right acne remedy for them.

It may be that you don't want to use harsh chemicals, which are often found in some of the best acne treatment preparations. Perhaps you have already tried an over-the-counter treatment that had side effects you couldn't put up with, many people find they suffer from dry, itchy skin as a result of acne treatments.

There are some very good natural acne cures, that won't dry your skin out and won't have any of the side-effects associated with chemical preparations. Common kitchen ingredients such as lemons and garlic have been shown to have amazing results with acne, as has apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil. If you are prepared to smell a bit odd and be dedicated to applying the natural cure of your choice regularly throughout the day then you may find the answer to your acne in your kitchen. For some people the patience and dedication required to work with natural acne treatments is just too much, or impractical to try and fit in with their lives.

There is a wide range of over-the-counter preparations, and depending on the severity of your acne, there will be a strength that will be right for you. It is important to remember that strong preparations are harsher on your skin, so it is always best to start with the lowest level practical to see if it can achieve the results you want. It is always possible to increase the strength of the preparation you are using gradually, rather than go in for a full strength one that may have quite noticeable side effects.

It is important to treat your acne as soon as possible, to minimise it's impact, shorten the life of the attack and help prevent any acne scarringthat may occur as a result. The sooner you treat your acne, whether with natural or chemical preparations, the more chance you have of preventing it from becoming severe and long lasting, once acne sets in it can be notoriously difficult to get rid of. Whatever acne remedy you choose, make sure it works for you and you are happy with the results you are seeing from it.
