Choosing the right location for a fall wedding
66
Thinking about having an autumn wedding?
I embrace all seasons but I always feel a tug in my heart when I think about fall. Apple cider, pumpkin picking, cardigans, fire places, foliage... I want to high five anyone who's engaged and decides on having a fall wedding because I think it's the perfect time to get hitched! Not too hot, not too cold, beautiful scenery..you can't go wrong. October is an excellent month to host a wedding because you have the beautiful weather, complete with the colors changing on the trees and that crisp, clean smell in the air. Whether you host your wedding inside or out, it's bound to be a beautiful event that everyone will remember.
When choosing location for your wedding you first need to ask yourself, inside our out? Unless it's the dead of winter I think outside weddings are more fun but ultimately the decision is up to you...you have to take mother nature into count anytime you plan an event outside. If you do decide you'd like your wedding to be held outdoors have a back up plan in case it's pouring the day of your wedding...fingers crossed that won't happen but you never know!
During the fall, a warm intimate atmosphere is perfect no matter what size your wedding will be. Consider having it in a old barn, or in a garden area where your guests can enjoy you, and the changing colors of the leaves! You can hold a wedding anywhere...If you are near the “countryside” inquire about renting space on someones vineyard or farm for an outside wedding! You and your guests can enjoy the crisp air, and beautiful foliage on your special day. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to rent space for a day, and how willing people will be to help you out...price is another plus when making this sort of arrangement; many times it's cheaper to rent out a bit of space than a hall or church.

If you're too chicken to ask someone about renting a bit of their land, state parks or public gardens will undoubtedly offer wedding options. You will be in charge of renting your own supplies, but these locations are almost always affordable..One thing to keep in mind though, with a public garden or state run park you might have limits as far as size go, and you may not have many options if there's a chance of rain...if you rent someones land you can arrange for emergency tents but places that are open to the public have a ton of rules and regulations that go along with renting the property for a few hours.
If you'd like a fall wedding but don't live in a place where there is foliage, or you prefer to have an inside wedding, look for a place that has dark wood, fireplaces, and a warm friendly atmosphere. Private clubs, old churches, and restaurants can offer all these things, and your fall wedding can be a delightful inside event.
