Chris Long Firestorming His Way Into The NFL
Yes this Chris Long is the Long in this draft related to NFL vet and senile analyst Howie Long (okay he's not as senile as Bradshaw I guess). While Dorsey is chosen by many to go overall #1 this upcoming draft, many are very high on Howie's son as he Firestorms into the opposing teams from his defensive end position.
At 6'4 275 pounds it seems like he might be very much the same type of player as his old man the former player/actor. If Dorsey is not #1 on a team's draft board, then Chris Long definitely is. He has wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks having racked up 14 sacks last year. Not to mention he caused two fumbles and even had an interception last year. Despite Chris's skills it seems that he has a great knowledge of the game and Chris was also named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. I have included a highlight reel of Chris in the Gator Bowl in a video below. You can see some of his work in action. It doessound like one of the announcers is in love with Chris Long but he does make some nice plays. I have to say an an impartial observer he shows a lot of versatility on the video for a defensive end.
Its definitely not a lock, but I foresee Long being drafted #2 and starting in St. Louis next year helping out their anemic pash rush. He would line up with last years first round pick Adam Carriker (DT) and add some explosiveness to a defensive line that struggled to attain only 31 sacks, less than 2 a game, and also were in the lower third of nearly every defensive category. Long might be a nice fit in St. Louis.
