Christ Yoga
61The Mind of Christ
A Unique Unity
This picture, Christ Yoga, I found as I was going through my computer files. Being a concept similar to what I am discovering in my own seeking of unity in the diversity of religions, philosophies, belief systems, etc... I did a Google search with "Christ yoga". Just on the first page, there were many diverse perspectives and some very loving and interesting thoughts; and some not so much!
My own seeking has uncovered stories of Jesus traveling to India and parts of the Orient, in the years not talked about in the Bible ("the missing years" between the ages of 12 and around 30), to learn about the various spiritual teachings of those areas. When I consider the importance of understanding other religions and spiritual philosophies, it makes perfect sense that he would have gone there to see for himself, to get the whole experience, of a culture. How else could he have developed such an acceptance of others? By discovering a greater variety of perspectives, nothing would be a shock to his perceptions. Hence he could stay centered in "his place".
In "his place" of the Christ Mind (Higher Self), he had the ability to look into one's soul, and not just look at their outer practices of day to day life and their spiritual beliefs, but be able to get beyond any degree of human prejudice and any manifestations of the human ego that causes a sense of separation between people and between people and God. The love that he attained by rising above these things enabled him to give an individual just what their soul needed for healing, to return to their unity with God (or at least the next step thereof).
So, when I look at this picture of "Christ Yoga", thinking that he learned about different forms of yoga and meditiation in India, he must have added those teachings to his growing understanding and sense of unity in the diversity of peoples beliefs. Because eventually his healing abilities became not just for a chosen few, but for all people that could connect with the understanding of the Christ Mind within.
Anyway, I invite you, too, to do the search and see what you find that will "speak" to your own soul about unity in diversity.
I hope you will check back periodically to see how my soul and thoughts have progressed on this (these) points in my search for the Unity in Our Diversity.
Many Blessings,
SparklingJewel

nice
Just found this one, sending it to my sister. She's going through lots of hearache right now and her priest suggested that Yoga would be very good for her!
Yes, Yes, Yesus! I am a Christian but I couldn't understand why God the Mother is missing from the Church. I did a research project on the historical Jesus and found out that He went to India, giving love and healing and speaking up for the truth, all the way. There are also references to his practice of yoga, in the Nathanamavali and The Acts of Yesu the Saviour. The Tibetan Gospel has God the Mother in it. My fundamentalist friends think I've turned into a syncretist, but no, it's just a bigger picture of the beautiful Lord. The project is up at www.ishanathayoga.wordpress.com if anyone wants to have a look. Aum, Amen.
Yes, Isn't it wonderful. The Christ mind was/is in all of us just waiting to be uncovered and re-discovered!
Blessings
