Ahh, Christian Bale. Not only are you one damn fine looking man with a huge acting talent, you lead some kind of charmed life -- getting to play characters that tons of people already love. He's Batman! And Bruce Wayne. Oh, he's such a perfect Bruce Wayne, I think. And I'm looking forward so much to seeing him play John Connor in Terminator 4.

There's so much goodness here it almost makes me forget his terrible singing in Newsies... almost ;)

Okay, onto the pretty pictures, starting with some of my favorite black & white shots. So pretty!

I love the facial hair on him when he wears it. I think it complements his features well and masks some of the sharp angles. Plus, it just sort of makes him look devilish, mmmmm.

Velvet Goldmine, so wonderful for so many reasons -- Christina Bale, Ewan McGregor, Jonathyn Rhys Meyers. Yummy. In the movie, Christian is probably the most drab person in it (but still adorable in a totally awkward geeky sort of way). I'm not sure that all of these were taken around then, but whoever planned the photos was certainly aware of the movie :)

Judging by the facial hair, I think most of these shots were taken during the press junket he did while promoting 3:10 to Yuma, which is now one of my favorite movies. You can check out my 3:10 to Yuma review if you haven't seen it yet.

Okay, we have some important things to consider here. Just how muscular should Christian Bale be to look his best?

I know some love the super ripped look in American Psycho, but that never appealed to me at all. Then there is the beefy look in Batman, which is okay, but doesn't quite trip my trigger.

Personally I think that because Bale tends to be naturally on the lean side, he looks better with a leaner, athletic appearance. My ideal is somewhere between how he looks in Equilibrium and Harsh Realm.

But the convincing is in the photo proof, so let's get to the pictures! And yes, I am conveniently forgetting all about The Machinest (*shudders*).
