This isn't a review so much as it is me raving like a madwoman about this scent. Several months ago I decided I need to try a few different perfumes so I went to Sephora at the mall and picked out seven or eight different scents to sample. I tried out a couple of Chanel eau de toilettes and then the Sephora clerk suggested I try Dior's Hypnotic Poison. It was love at first whiff!

I don't even think I ever ended up wearing half of the samples that I brought home with me on that trip and a week or so later I was back at the mall to buy a full size bottle of the Dior Hynotic Poison eau de toilette.

Now one thing you should know, this is a strong scent. Like the other Poison fragrances by Dior, a little goes a long way. So take it easy on the spritz. A nice spray from a distance gives you just a nice tantalizing fragrance that you'll carry with you throughout the day. It's a nice long lasting fragrance with a good dry down. It should get you plenty of compliments.

The best way to describe Hypnotic's scent would be sweet Oriental, I think. It's a vanilla sugar scene with almonds and the floral note is Jasmine. I like sweet scents with a bit of spice to them and I think Hypnotic captures that perfectly. It's warm and sweet without being foody. And I think it is a more mature scent than one of my other favorite sweets, Pink Sugar. Where pink sugar is a frothy cotton candy concoction, Hypnotic is like warm spiced caramel. Many people say that Hypnotic smells like root beer, but it doesn't smell like that on me at all.
