Christiane's Canadian apple delight
57I once had a beautiful (and witty) Canadian roomie. I remember her liking apples, so I simply could not not have named this recipe after her! This is a simple and pleasant snack: organic yogurt, apple sauce and mapple syrup.
The only cooking is the apple sauce. I used some Reinettes du Canada and Belles de Boskopf- from my Grandma's farm. Granny Smith will do just fine.
Wedge the apples and put them in a pan with a few drops of water, put a lid on and cook on low heat for about 15mn. Check often. When ready, serve it in glass cups, then cover it with yogurt.
I like to serve the apple sauce when it's still warm because I particularly enjoy the contrast with the cold yogurt. And the mapple syrup touch brings it all together. This snack tastes good and makes me feel good because when I eat it, it gives me the impression, that I do good to my body. i like to eat it on my couch with a cover on me--and I imagine myself somewhere in the gorgeous canadian countryside... Cheers, Christiane!!!
