This Christmas, Send A Child A Letter Directly From Santa Claus (Dot Com)

To this day I can still clearly recall those years of my childhood during which I was old enough to know that Santa Claus wasn't real but young enough to want to hold onto the myth.

There was this one Christmas morning in particular. I remember walking into the living room to find that Santa had left me a letter. I was absolutely thrilled to see the envelope addressed to me. And then devastatingly disappointed to see that Santa's letter was in my mother's exact handwriting. "How can I even pretend this came from Santa?" I remember thinking.

These days there's a way for an adult to a child the thrill of receiving a letter from Santa without the adult needing to be a master of handwriting disguises. A website, possibly run by elves, will not only send a personalized Santa letter to your special little one but can also arrange for Old Nick to make telephone call:

A Letter From Santa

The Santa Claus website (see link to the right) offers several different letter levels. Regardless of the level, what makes each of these Santa letters so effictive is that they are highly personalized. Each makes references to information you provide like your child's favorite sports, hobbies, friends and pet's names, recent events in their lives, etc. You also have the option of having Santa write whatever PS you'd like. Siblings who get a letter will each feel Santa's personal attention.

The letters also look convincing. They come on stationary like Santa might have, in a realistic handwriting font and with a Mailed From The North Pole postmark.

In addition to the Classic Letter there's the Santa Letter & Magic Snow that comes with snow dust that fell from Sanata's North Pole roof. Add water and the snow dust turns back into snow flakes. There's also the Santa Letter Special that includes a stuffed snowperson gift and the Santa Letter Deluxe that includes both said snow dust and stuffed snowperson.

A Phone Call From Santa

For a more auditory experience, have Santa call your child!

Pre-recorded calls from Santa will take your child's age and generder into account. But what's really cool are the live phone calls. A jolly-sounding Saint Nick will phone your special young one at the time of your choosing. As with the letters, each call is highly personalised.

The Santa Claus website opperates out of both North Pole, United States and North Pole, England (this particular Santa being rather Anglo-American oriented). His letters can be sent anywhere but he is currently only able to call numbers (both land line and cell) in Canada, the United States and United Kingdom.

As for myself, to relive a touch of that Santa magic from my childhood I'm planning a little role reversal this holiday season. This Christmas, my mother will be the one getting the letter from Santa . . . along with some snow dust that fell from his North Pole roof.

THIS IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!

I too, was one of those children who didn't want to let go of the Santa myth, even after I knew the gig was up. I think this is a great idea and I'm definitely going to be using it for my nieces and nephews this Christmas.

Thanks!

I had an argument with another kid once about Santa Claus. He said Santa was dead, I said he can't be because I saw him on Ed Sullivan last night... True story.

Great hub.

Too cool. You even believed in the Ed Sullivan Santa! Me too.

When I lived in an apartment without a chimney they had to take me to the attic to show me HOW Santa GOT OUT of the chimney to get to all of the apartments!

As funny as this may sound to most people, but I never grew up believing in Santa Claus. I think it is a fun tradition, but if I ever had kids I am not sure I could tell them Santa is real, it would just not feel right to me. Hope I do not sound like scrouge for saying this, but when you grow up never believing in Santa or the Tooth Fairy it is hard to pretend on any level. Of course I love the Christmas season and decorating the tree, so just because I never believed in Santa does not mean I would ruin it for anyone else. This website sounds like a fun idea for those who want a creative and fun letter for the kids.
