Do you know what to do with your artificial Christmas tree after the winter holiday season? There are many great options for Christmas tree storage that people need to consider when dealing with an artificial tree. If you keep your artificial Christmas tree in a quality place of storage like a metal storage building, then probably will not show any signs of wear-and-tear throughout the years. If however, you are not able to provide your artificial tree with a proper storage setting, it may get scuffed up, wrecked, or become discolored. If this is the case, your family may pressure you into going out and buying a new artificial tree. In order to save yourself the time of buying a new Christmas tree, you need to know about proper artificial Christmas tree storage.

Each year that you are able to find good Christmas tree storage, is another year you will get to reap the benefits that include: proper coloration, proper shape, and appearance of your artificial Christmas tree. After Christmas is over and all of the presents have been torn open and taken from underneath your tree, it is important that you first unplug the Christmas tree lights before rounding up the Christmas tree storage bags. Take note that the lights may be hot initially after you’ve been running them for awhile, so you may want to let them cool off for awhile before beginning the removal process. Before you unplug them though, you may want to take note if any lights need to be replaced by marking them; this will be very helpful for next Christmas.

During this time, it is usually recommended that you take off your ornaments and store them in a Christmas tree storage bag. Be careful when taking down your ornaments because you do not want any of them to break. Most ornaments are made up of fine glass and are easily breakable. You may want to find some soft tissue paper to wrap your ornaments inside of in order to prevent them from chipping or cracking when rubbing up against the other ornaments.

After you have successfully removed your lights you definitely want to round up some Christmas tree storage bags to put them in. Depending on how tall your Christmas tree is, it may take anywhere from one to five big bags to store all of your Christmas lights. Do not get discouraged with the amount of work that it takes. Be careful so that you do not break any Christmas tree lights while you take them off of your tree. Wrap them carefully in a circular pattern and have tape available to keep them from getting twisted. After you have finally removed all of the lights and put them into a Christmas tree storage bag, you will be able to disassemble your artificial tree.

Disassembling your artificial Christmas tree is usually very easy, especially if you follow storage instructions that came with the box in which you got your tree. Follow the directions – which will usually instruct you to start from the bottom, then take some top branches and work your way down to the middle with removal of the branches. After you have removed and disassembled your entire artificial Christmas tree, it is time to find an area for artificial Christmas tree storage. Most people usually have a basement area, shed, or metal storage building that will allow them to store their artificial tree clean during the offseason.

Finding Christmas tree storage is generally pretty easy. If you cannot think of anyplace within your house that would serve as an artificial Christmas tree storage area, consider putting your tree in an attic, garage, or shed. If you still do not know of anywhere to store your Christmas tree, then ask some friends and neighbors if they will allow you to keep your tree in their storage area during the off-season.

Most people have no problem finding an artificial Christmas tree storage bag to fit their tree and use in the storage process. It is recommended that you always have either artificial Christmas tree storage bags or a Christmas tree storage box to put your tree parts into when holiday season ends. Hopefully you now have a good idea of how you are going to disassemble your artificial Christmas tree and are able to find a great place to fit your Christmas tree storage needs.
