61There are different ways of back pain treatment depending on the causes. Back pain is caused by factors which are termed “referred pains” arising from some organs of the body or complications such as abdominal disorders like Pelvic infections, bladder disorders, Kidney diseases, appendicitis, Ovarian disorders , and aneurysms and orders. Skeletal causes of Low back pain include Osteomyolitis, and tumours.
Back pain treatments can be surgical, medicinal or home based treatments. Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side is also one of the ways of treating little back pain treatments. Non prescription drugs such as Ibuprofen, and Acetaminophen are effective in bringing relief to back pain problems. Ice, heat and topical agents such as deep heating rubs can also offer some effective relief for back pain problems. Other advanced back pain treatment methods involve the use of Opioid analgesics, Muscle relaxants, Oral steroids, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications and COX-2 inhibitors.
Chronic back pain treatment can be done in two ways which are manual body treatments and the use of Pharmacologic treatments. Manual treatment of chronic back pain include the use of physical exertion and manipulation of affected areas through chiropractic adjustments, osteopathy, massage therapy or electro-therapy. Medical chronic back treatment include the use of effective treatment drugs such as analgesics, and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs) such as Naproxen and Aspirin.
Chronic Back Pain Treatments
Chronic low back pain treatment is similar to the treatment of ordinary chronic back pain treatment just that severe symptoms would need surgical treatment of the affected low regions of the back. Less severe symptoms of Chronic low back pains can be treated through Narcotic medications and anti-depressants { for neuropathic pain}. Other common treatment methods include; Surgically implanted electrotherapy devices such as peripheral nerve stimulators, Radiofrequency radio-ablation treatments, and direct injection of steroids or anesthetic to nerve, joint or epidural space.
Severe back pain treatment are treatments which have gone beyond treatments for mild back pains and are regarded as advanced surgical treatments or medications which when not performed timely may result in several other health complications such as paralysis. Severe back pain treatment include; Prolotherapy- the injection of some solution to stimulate blood circulation and ligament repair at affected site in the body, and the use of Surgically implanted electrotherapy devices which are spinal cord stimulators.
Deciding a treatment for back pain depends on the severity as well as medical history of a patient. Mild or less severe back pains can be easily treated with manual or non-medical therapies such as simple massages, Relaxation therapies and behavioural changes such as avoiding staying in some positions that put pressure on the spinal cord and some other parts of back. Changing your bed or mattress for instance or simply changing your sleeping patterns may be the simple treatment you need for your back pain.
Severe Back pain Treatment should not be handled with home base therapies or over-the-counter medications so as not to get the problem complicated. It will be ideal to see a surgeon in such cases. It is ideal to note that healthy lifestyles such as exercising can reduce chances of developing back pains significantly.
