Chuck and the e cigarette

There are just a few scripted shows on network TV worth watching.  Especially if you’re over the age of 20 or have an IQ over 20.  Heroes had promise, but crashed and burned by Season 2.  Lost is a tangled mess of mystery.  Only the most patient and die hard fans have hung in there for answers.  Reaper is stellar bringing popular buddy comedy from the theater into the home, with a dash of action and supernatural thrills.  This brings me to Chuck.  Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) is an adorable dweeb, working at the Buy More as a computer consultant.  If my DSE901 USB charger quit working, he’s who I’d want to see behind the counter.  But there’s more to Chuck then meets the eye.  In fact, he’s a National asset, a human hard drive with information on the nefarious organization called Fulcrum. Chuck has two handlers, Major John Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski), tasked with keeping him safe and busting as many Fulcrum baddies as possible.  We watch the show as a family because it has a little something for everyone: romance, action, comedy and mystery.

The season finale aired last night and today the boards are alive with the sound of panic.  Fans of the show are worried that Chuck may not be back next season, due to a small (if faithful) following. Please, please don’t replace one of my favorite shows with another mindless show with privileged teens acting like brats.  I’d much rather see the Nerd Herd fighting inept management and international terrorists.

To be clear, no decision has been made, but one insider offers some hope.  “The fact that some of the execs are still listening to what people have to say is a good thing.” Here’s hoping I will be able sit back and relax while vaping my e cigarette with the best smoke juice to chuck next season.
