What's This About Anyways???

Reviewing TV movies and big screen films, giving them a Cinema "Heaven" or Cinema "Hell" rating. So, "in any event", as my wife likes to say, these types of media will either be sent to "Heaven" or sent to "Hell" based upon my review "judgement". You'll either love it or hate it. Either way, we'll get to know each other. LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES!

Heaven

Jodie Foster's The Brave One

Ya know, I could just basically give this one a Cinema Heaven rating just because Jodie Foster is in it alone. But of course that wouldn't be right without seeing it first. And because I am The Judge, I must be fair. To me ever since 1991's The Silence of The Lambs, which she won an Academy Award for, Jodie Foster has done nothing short of great films. You've got her follow ups that include Flight Plan , Panic Room (which was a down right nail-baiter if you saw it. If you didn't, go rent it now!) and the like. But here she comes again with another eye gluing big screener called The Brave One, where she plays the role of Erica Bain, a New York radio host whose fiancee' is murdered. I recently saw a clip on this and (without spoling it) she has the emotionally battered look on her face I've ever seen her have---truly Cinema Heaven worthiness. But, like I said, I won't give it a rating yet. But here's what I WILL DO is this: I'll put it on "Cinema Judgement Hold" for now unitl I come back with my judgment. So for now, marinate for a while and I'll see you back here after opening weekend!
