Classic Car Insurance Reviews Are Important

There are few things more enjoyable to a car nut than the first day of spring. Spring brings upon the car scene the fun of car shows, cruise-ins, and swap meets. Every classic car owner has probably been prepping their car over the last month before spring to be ready.

One thing that tends to be skipped over is an annual review of your car insurance. Your typical classic or collector car tends to exceed the bounderies of what a regular insurance company can comfortable insure. State Farm and Progressive are geared towards insuring the family Camry, not a 40-year old Ferrari.

Specialty auto insurance companies like Hagerty insurance or Sneed insurance understand the needs of the specialty car market. They have car insurance policies geared towards collector cars. These policies take into consideration that the average classic car owner is a mature stable individual. Also, these cars are not driven daily, but carefully on sunny weekends.

Also, classic car insurance companies provide stated value insurance, which allows the insured to set the value of their vehicle. This means that the car can be insured for the replacement value of the vehicle.

While the sun and fun is an important part of the spring ritual it's important that you also don't forget the more practical aspect of collector cars. Be sure to check with your agent each year before spring to make sure you coverage is adequate and up to date to the market value of your car.

That sure is a good point - to check with your agent to make sure your coverage is enought. In these days of rizing prices it would be a shame to have an accident and then realize you didn't have enought insurance on your classic car.
