Revamping the furniture base of your home doesn’t always require you to buy a new piece. Cleaning the furniture in special ways can give a new life to your furniture, and can also change the feel of the entire area. But this cleaning is not about the regular dusting and caring, there are more methods to effective cleaning which can change the face of the entire furniture and make them as good as new. Apart from preserving the beauty of the furniture, these methods add life to your furniture.

The special cleaning methods are based on the type of furniture which you plan to clean, like wood, cane, leather and upholstered. However, don’t get nervous because cleaning furniture seems a bigger task than it actually is. For cleaning wood based furniture, you can use mineral oils or turpentine oil along with lint free cloth for removing any stains. Apart from removal of stains, you can clean the entire furniture with the above stuff to ensure a new finish and shine on the piece.

Cleaning of leather furniture requires you to use vinegar and water along with a soft cloth for cleaning the areas. You should also assure that any leather furniture shouldn’t be in direct contact with things radiating a lot of heat. Similar goes for upholstered furniture, which should be really cared for and cleaned off any stains as soon as possible. Cane furniture should also be shielded from heat and for cleaning any cane based furniture; you should spray it with warm water for elongating the life of the fiber.

All these methods for cleaning the furniture are general purpose, and they do not require any special material or a lot of hard work. You just need to spare some time for rejuvenating your home by giving a new lease of life to your furniture.
