60If you are looking to lose weight, or just put yourself into a better frame of mind and body then I hope then I hope this hub about cleansing diets will give you a bit of information. I have been chasing around information about a cleansing diet all my life trying to find ways of honing my own skills when it comes to treating myself and my family. Although it is wrong to put your children through cleansing diets you shouldn't feel the need to. With proper nutrition and pretty healthy lifestyles your children should grow up fit and strong and not have to worry about cleansing themselves. I know my children are fed on whole foods, they drink plenty of water and tend to skip on processed foods. I know lots of people are going to be saying well, you don't know what they are eating when I turn my back. You are probably right. But I do know that they are not eating junk food, because they despise the taste. They were brought up in the goodness of whole foods, cooked in the right way, and they can see the effects of bad diets on the people around them, then it is very difficult to think all of a sudden "let's get down to McDonald's". And I know this is not just wishful thinking on my behalf because my children are known by their friends as being really choosy eaters. Even young people are going through colon cleansing diets, liver cleansing diets, cleansing diets, it's all part of the system nowadays. Anyway back to the article... I will be trying to explain a few of the different cleansing diets that are available on the market.
I will go through the colon cleansing diet, the master cleanse detox diet which involves a bit of colon cleansing, Oprah Winfrey's Acai berry diet in which she is reputed to have lost an awful lot of weight, there is also the fruit diet, and the lemon detox diet. I'm only going to take the edge of the iceberg as it were when I explained some of the methods used by these different forms of cleansing diet.
For further information, and indeed for more detailed information you should look on the Internet. There are plenty of websites available for you to choose from, and most of them will be able to give you much more information than I could possibly provide in this small space. That having been said, let's move on to the first method.
The first cleansing diets that I will look at is the colon cleansing diet. The premise behind this diet is obviously to clean out your colon. The problem with this part of your body is that it tends to accumulate a lot of junk over the years, especially if you are not eating a proper diet. So, your whole system is trying to fight in an area where it should not have to be, it is pushing resources down to your intestines that could be used in the fight for other areas. And all this because of bad diets. Most cleansing diets are used to cure problems which are indeed the fault of the owner of the body. Unless you are a child nobody actually forces you to eat anything, you do it all of your own volition. So one of the ways of the colon cleansing diet is to get you to eat plenty of fiber. Fiber is water soluble and it's allows the passage of your stools to be much smoother as they are passing through your colon and expelled as feces. Another way of helping along the fiber intake is by drinking plenty of water. Now you are going to hear me mentioning this again and again not only in this hub but in any other hubs in which I write about detox or a cleansing diet and not just because it is so, so important. We are made of 75% water, water is the thing that is our lifeblood, water is the one thing that we cannot do without for long. And most of us are continuously dehydrated. We are continuously thirsty, we just don't know it. So back to the cleanse diet like I said water is very important. As well as drinking plenty of water you must also eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. You're going to get an awful lot of fiber from this source, plus you will gain all the vitamins and minerals that you need for healthy living. Cleanse diets must be thought of only as short-term, long-term you have to eat well, and drink plenty of water. Then you will not need to take any cleansing diets.
Cleansing Diets
The next body cleanse diets that I want to talk about is the master cleanse diet. This is a cleansing diet which has been made much more public by the famous people that have undertaken. When I say famous people I mean celebrities. The actress Beyoncé Knowles has been known to use this form of cleansing diet. She famously used it before the film "dream girls", and many people at the time followed suit. For this cleanse diet, the lemonade diet, or the lemon diet which I will talk about later on, is used in conjunction with colon cleansing, or in reality it uses colonic irrigation, unblocking the pipes so to speak. The benefits of this diet includes as I say removing the crap from your system. Although you have to use a strict diet on the system, there are some areas where it seems a bit silly, for instance you're not allowed any stimulants of any kind, yet the colonic irrigation instead of using warm water uses warm coffee... slightly strange but there you go.
Oprah's cleansing diet is also a strange one. It is done with the help of the acai berry which was discovered only fairly recently in the Amazon jungle. It is one of the brainchildren of a certain Dr. Oz from Columbia University. Dr. Oz is a surgical professor there. In using this diet Oprah Winfrey has lost over 30 pounds. I have seen better weight loss before, but because it is Oprah Winfrey and it's a new body cleansing diet then it's all going to be good. I don't know whether there is an element of colon cleanse diet mixed in here somewhere, I will have to check this out get back to you. A lot of the time these cleansing diets are about keeping the digestive system working properly. And this one is no exception to that rule. The acai berry is supposed to improve digestion, and help fight disease because all of the rich antioxidant content that it has. Like they said I am always a bit skeptical about the celebrity cleansing diet, celebrities always seemed a little bit mad to me and they always seem to want to do something that is a little bit off the cuff are away from normality, but that just might be my perception of things. It might not be true at all. Look at Madonna!
Then there is the fruit diet, I love this one. I think fruit should eaten more and more. Apples should replace the burger any day. But then that's just my opinion, again, but I am writing this so I'm going to say whatever I want, it's my hub. If you look at my hub about McDonald's nutrition, you will know exactly what I think about eating burgers and chips, so I don't have to go into it here. The food diet is all about eating honest to goodness harvested fruits. Any fruit that you can think of that grows on a tree or bush, in fact I always eat vegetables with this one as well. It's a detox cleansing diet that I am always falling back on, I am quite happy to undertake this cleansing diets once a week for the full-day. I eat nothing else except fruit and a few vegetables, maybe a small bit of protein. There is also a big element of juicing involved in this cleansing diet. Now the fruit cleansing diet can be undertaken over one day a week, it can also be done for three days in one session, those three days happening once a month. This cleanse diet is not going to do you any harm, on the contrary it will make you feel really good. The first day all the three-day fruit diet should include some protein shakes as well as your fruit. Then on the second and third days you should eat some fruit every two hours. Then at two main meal you should eat vegetables with either a small bit of lean protein or another protein shake. Try this out because you will feel really good after it, I kid you not this works.
And finally we get to the lemon detox diet. This cleansing diet can be used in conjunction with other diets. It should be used in conjunction with other diets because it is one of those cleansing diets that is going to do you have lots of good. The whole theory behind this diet is that you substitute lemon drink for a meal. So, say that you are having hunger pangs; you would mix of one of these drinks and take that instead of eating. The way you make this drink is... fresh mineral water, add to this the juice of a couple of lemons,freshly squeezed of course, you could have some maple syrup to sweeten it up and the dash of cayenne pepper to finish it all off. This was invented by Dr. Stanley Burroughs, when he was trying to find a way of treating stomach ulcers. It seems strange that anyone would even want to put this amount of citric acid near stomach ulcer, but there you go. As I said this cleansing diet is used as part of the Master cleanse diet. You can also use this body cleansing diet as part of a whole food diet, so instead of substituting the food, you are going to drink this in conjunction or maybe as a substitute for one meal.
So that's about it for me and the cleansing diet. I think I've written quite enough here about all of these methods. For more in-depth information just go to Google and type in the specific diet and I'm sure that you will come up with tons of information about each and every one of the cleansing diets that I have mentioned. But just as a little recap from the beginning there is the colon cleansing diet which by the way is a great one if you are feeling a bit ill. Then there is the Master cleanse diet, this one has a lot to do with the lemonade cleansing diet and the colon cleansing diet. The celebrity diets you will probably find out about in any of the celebrity magazines, which will be raving about anything that celebrity does. So I hope you can put the information that I've told you here to good use, and that you remember the enthusiasm I had for the fruit diet, which is one of the cleansing diets that I think everyone should take part in.
