Clear Light Acne

It is unfortunate that in our culture we base our view on people off of their physical appearance but that is the reality that we live in. This fact makes it hard for people living with acne problems to have good self image. So when there comes a new technology in the field of acne reduction, like the clear light acne treatment, there is an interest in finding out if it works, how it works, what people are saying about it, and how much it costs.

This technology called clear light acne treatment is advertised as having no side effects. If this is true, it could be a major breakthrough, and the answer that so many people are searching for. The idea of using light to cure acne was to target the P. acnes bacteria, which causes acne, without damaging any of the surrounding tissue. The thing about this therapy that is so remarkable is that it doesn't actually attack the bacteria, there is no ultraviolet light, and there are no lasers. What the clear light acne treatment does is stimulate your body to heal itself. Your body naturally produces peroxide, which kills the acne causing bacteria. When you are exposed to the clear light your body's chemical mechanisms that fight acne are stimulated, which ramps up the production of porhyrins, and then at the end of a bunch of chemical reactions, peroxide is produced, which is what ultimately kills the bacteria. This is probably the most non invasive acne treatment that there is, it doesn't actually do anything but get your body to heal itself.

The procedure itself is a quick one, it takes about half an hour. You sit in a chair or lie on a bed with protective eye wear under the light, and that's it. You can go about your normal daily routine right afterwords. For most people there are no side effects, but for some they do experience a dryness in the area that they are exposing to the light. The treatments are done two or four times a month.

One major set back for this technology is that it does cost a lot, which is hard to afford for the normal person. And it takes a couple weeks for you to see results.

This treatment is good news for the people that are allergic or non responsive to the other acne treatments out there like antibiotics or topical products. If you are considering trying out clear light acne treatment then you should do as much research as you possible can to see how it is affecting other people.
