Click to Donate and Free Charity Sites
74
For everyone who is feeling a little generous or for someone who has a bit of free time on his or her hands, I’ve compiled a list of click to donate and charity sites. All of these sites are completely free to use.
Good Search
Good Search is a search engine powered by Yahoo. It works like any other search engine except for the fact that every time you search a small amount of money goes to the charity of your choice. There will be a box on the Good Search homepage that allows you to choose from an incredible amount of charities. There’s also a feature that allows you to “GoodShop” and 30% of your purchase will go to the charity you choose. Set Good Search as your homepage and start earning money for charity
Social Vibe
Social Vibe allows you to earn money for charity by putting a badge on your Myspace, Facebook page, or any other social networking site you may use. For every page view you get, a certain amount of points are donated to charity. You start off first by choosing a sponsor from a list that social vibe provides. They have sponsors from Showtime all the way to Colgate toothpaste. You then choose a cause to support. Next you create a cool looking badge to post on your social networking site. You can also earn points by updating your status and answering the question of the day on your profile. There is also a chance to win perks, depending on the sponsor you choose.
Care2
Care2 is a click to donate site. It’s also a way to meet new people who have the same interests and passions as you do. There are 11 opportunities a day for you to help the environment, animals, and people. There is also a petition site within the Care2 network that allows people to not only sign petitions but to create them as well. There is a petition for almost anything and if there isn’t one you can create it. You can also create a profile, much like other social networking sites, that allows you to show who you are and just what you are passionate about.
Ripple
Ripple is part click to donate and part charity search engine powered by Google. It supports four charities: Oxfam Australia, WaterAid, the Oaktree Foundation, and the Grameen Foundation. Every search that is conducted provides a small amount of money from the Ripple sponsors that Ripple then passes on to the four charities. There is also a chance for you to click on each of the charities. For every sponsor advertisement that is viewed, a portion of the profit goes to each charity.
The Animal Rescue Site
The Animal Rescue Site is a click to donate site. You click daily and .6 bowls of food is given to rescued animals. There is also a chance to shop for items through the animal rescue store. A portion of that profit also goes to the rescued animals. There are five other charities that you can click on while you visit the animal rescue site. They are the hunger site, the breast cancer site, child health, literacy, and the rainforest. These charities are located on the tabs at the top of the page.
Free Kibble and Free Kibble Kat
Started by Mimi Ausland, a 12-year-old girl from Bend, Oregon, freekibble.com gives free kibble to animal shelters for every trivia question answered. Each day there is one trivia question that allows you to donate 10 free pieces of kibble a day. There is also a website she started called freekibblekat.com that has the same concept. Freekibble is officially a non-profit organization so donations from PayPal are also now accepted.
