First Aid For Clipper Burns

How to treat clipper burn.

  • Dab or mist the area with peroxide
  • Apply a healing salve to the affected area
  • Prevent clipper burn

Ask your groomer to use a vacuum set type clipper or attachable combs. Let your groomer know you think your dog had a clipper burn. Your dog may be very sensitive to being groomed.

Remember, clipper burn usually does not show for some hours after being groomed. Clipper burn usually is not a serious condition.
