The Commonalities of Clomid and Endometriosis?

What is the connection between clomid and endometriosis? First of all, it is important to understand that endometriosis is a serious disease that many females deal with all over the world. It can affect women of all ages both young and old. When a woman suffers from endometriosis there is a problem with the lining of the uterus. Even though endometriosis tissue is normally just inside the uterus when you have this condition tissue can move to other parts of the body. Other areas would include the fallopian tubes, ovaries, bladder, vagina, pelvis and cervix. Sometimes it can even spread all the way to the abdomen.

There have been cases reported in which this tissue was found as far up as a woman's arms, thighs and lungs. These of course, are severe cases. In milder cases many women are given an ovulation induction that also has clomid in it to help them get pregnant if they are trying to have a baby. This is because it is difficult for a woman to become pregnant with this disease. The number of miscarriages reported also goes up for women with endometriosis. This is why any woman trying to get pregnant with this condition needs to be monitored closely by their doctor.

The very first thing that must be done is a laparoscopy to determine if you are suffering from endometriosis. This will also let your doctor know how serious the condition is and how big the growths are. If this test shows that you have a medium to severe case of endometriosis and you want to have a baby, then there is some hope. There is a procedure in which your doctor can make an excision that will allow him to do some reconstruction to the structure of the uterus. This can help to increase your odds, but does not guarantee you can get pregnant.

If you have been trying to get pregnant but not having any luck, then you should talk to your doctor. If you begin taking clomid it will be for a limited time. Clomid increases estrogen levels and this is not good when you have endometriosis. The reason is because this condition thrives better when higher estrogen levels are present. Here are some signs that you can look for if you suspect you may have this condition. You may experience diarrhea, nausea, constipation, infertility, fatigue and allergies. Other symptoms to look for is pain when having your period, intercourse, bowel movement or when urination. Talk to your doctor if you have any of these symptoms. Even woman who have had a hysterectomy are still at risk. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to see your doctor immediately.
