If you struggle to find the outfit you know is somewhere in your closet, but can't seem to find it, it's time to take some action to organize your clothes!!

This doesn't have to be an all day affair. In fact, in this hub, we'll take a look at some simple organizer solutions you can implement. Look at this hub offering advice as if it were a free buffet: take what you want, and leave the rest for someone else! Hopefully amongst all these tips you'll find something that works for you and your budget!

Closet Organizers - Quick and Easy Organizer Tools

Closet organizers are tools you add into your closet to make better use of the space. They are sold at department stores and are easy to find, set up, and use. Now, the type of closet organizers I'm referring to in this hub are not the 8 feet tall systems you install with a bunch of tools. That's a bit too close to remodeling the closet when all we're trying to do is cheaply sort out our things in a way that makes them easy to find.

Throw up some shelves. Add some additional shelves to your closet. Target sells cheap cloth shelves that hang from your closet rod and create about 10 little "cubbie holes". These slots are great for random items. If you want to save some money, look around for any little shelves in your house, unused shelves in the garage, or even keep an eye on the curb! Lots of people throw out perfectly good shelves every day - there is no shame is going and reclaiming them and recycling it in your closet!

Add a shoe rack. Shoe racks save a lot of space. Obviously, this is more true if you have a lot of shoes! If you don't, you can probably get away with throwing the shoes in the aforementioned cubbie holes / closet shelf.

Throw out what you don't wear. Okay, this is the bullet point you will either scoff at or follow. Throwing out clothes works as far as making what's left easier to find. But most people dislike this step and prefer to ignore it. So be it!

Wardrobe Closets - Super Nice, Yet Expensive

Now if you just have too much stuff, you might consider throwing down some money on an armoire, also known in modern parlance as a wardrobe closet. Wardrobe closets are usually strong, sturdy pieces of furniture. They have doors, shelves, and drawers, and sometimes even nice mirrors on the inside of them. Nearly all are made of decent to high quality wood. Nicer units will be made of exotic woods and have intriguing designs carved into them.

Yes, you can see that this is an expensive way to store clothes! Nevertheless, a solid wood wardrobe closet will pretty much last you.. forever? So if you're inclined to buy high quality furniture, and you know you need more closet space, a wardrobe closet is a good solution.

Portable Closets - A Cheaper Alternative to Wardrobe Closets

On the other side of the closet spectrum from wardrobe closets, we have what's called a portable closet. These are light weight closet units that are - you guessed it - portable! This means they're made of light weight materials and either have handles, wheels, or both, for ease of movement. Many flatten down into practically nothing when they are not full of clothes.

The big selling point for portable closets is that they will effectively give you a second closet and furthermore, a portable closet will do so without costing you much money at all. For $50 to $100, you can buy a nice portable closet unit. Some even have built in shoe racks!

What Works Best For You?

Everyone's needs are different when it comes to closet solutions.

Some would prefer a few cheap organizer tools like a shoe rack and a bookshelf, whereas another might prefer a beautiful wardrobe closet for not just the storage but the looks. Somewhere in between you'll find those of us who prefer the simplicity and value of a portable closet, which offers the best of both worlds at an affordable price.

No matter which method you choose, you will reap a little benefit each and every time you have to get into your closet and it's easy to find what you're looking for!
