67Flashing Back to the Late 80's
Every decade in history has its own style of music, mood, and attitude, but none was more pronounced than the industrial, synth-pop, new wave, goth, techno, EBM, new beat, house, and Hi-NRG movement of the 1980's. Depeche Mode, Front 242, Erasure, and many other artists shocked us with their incredibly outlandish styles, clothing, and pulsating beats which defined the era that still manages to find its way back onto the dance floor today.

CLUB 6400
- The 80's era was defined by it's music simply because there were so many great artists whose music still today stands the test of time. The club scene began in the eighties as night club owners began publicizing their venues by advertising on the radio. Live club broadcasts on the radio are now common place, but in the eighties they were just beginning. In Houston, TX it all began at a place known as Club 6400. Together with KKBQ-FM (93Q) a local radio station, the club began broadcasting live on Sunday nights playing the little known tunes of the 80's. Even today there are many people in their late 30's to early 40's that know the music of 6400 and have even coined the phrase "6400 music".

Oh yeah, we remember. Always wished I had been old enough to have gone to 6400, but at least I have some tapes recorded from the live broadcast somewhere and some of the 12" vinyl.
