Outlet shopping for my extended family and me is a 12-hour plus excursion of sheer fun and some would say chaos. It begins with all of us meeting and piling into one or two minivans to be off on our adventure. This adventure is not age specific as we bring infants to Grandma (who is currently 83). We start with the all-important breakfast, paid for by Grandma, and then we are off the races for the annual outlet experience. Shopping, talking and laughing all day long until Grandma or one of the babies get too tired. Although it is not uncommon to hit one more store on the way home, in conjunction with an ice cream stop.

Since each person has their own favorite stores our group of about 15 tends to split up throughout the day. We take turns sitting with Grandma in the stores as others look for good deals or the priorities to purchase for the day. THEN comes the Coach Factory Outlet Store. Here is what happened the first time we went to the Coach Outlet. Grandma and I (and the entire crew) descend on this nice little store so I can buy a purse. There are a few us of who are thrilled to be there and those family members gasping over the prices of ‘just a purse.’ The climax rises as Grandma and I are looking at some of my favorite styles and she says loudly ‘oh my goodness, $300 for a purse!’ I believe the entire store stopped and looked at us. I and another aunt, who had come over after Grandma’s comment, went on to convince Grandma that the purchase was all right. Upon leaving the store, I made Grandma promise to not tell anyone how much my purse cost. To this day, she will still smile at my purse and say ‘I won’t tell.’ What a great memory I will always have of the first Coach Factory Outlet Store visit with my Grandma.

Whether you have outlet shopping traditions (like me – although this year’s spring break trip was an inside mall due to cold, rainy weather) or you stop for a fun day, a Coach outlet is a great place to find authentic coach handbags at great prices. You may have noticed that the Coach purses are not discounted on a regular basis at the department stores, as well as, those great coupons you get in the mail normally excludes Coach products. Although last year, Macy’s did allow coupon use once last year and the Coach department was tons of fun or crazy depending on your perspective! But for the most part, to get a ‘deal’ you must go online or find an outlet.

However, the knock-off Coach business is a HUGE online business. With so many knock-offs being sold online, it is nice to be able to touch and feel your purchase before making it. Especially if you are relatively new to Coach products, I would suggest an outlet over online shopping. By shopping at an outlet you can inspect your purchase for Coach quality and authenticity.

Coach Factory Outlet Stores offer the same great quality for a fraction of the price. Inventory from outlets can come from an overstock of the products, a product with minor defects, or styles that are outdated from the retail styles. All of these factors, including the ability for the Coach Outlet to buy in bulk help to bring down the price from retail. Making these stores great places to find a discount coach purse.

Interestingly, Coach also manufacturers products specifically for its Outlet stores. The company seems to split its buyers into two types of consumers – those who shop at retail stores and those that shop at outlet centers. Coach does this special manufacturing to keep both sets of its consumers happy. The retail shoppers can have the latest and greatest trends and styles that are unique. While the more budget minded shopper has the ability to enjoy designer products at prices that are more affordable. This split shows that Coach is very conscious of its fans who want the Coach quality and look at an outlet price.

With the many different styles of Coach products, you may know exactly what type of handbags, wallet, briefcase, etc that you are looking for. If your heart is really set on a specific model of a purse, I would HIGHLY suggest you call ahead to see if the store has that style in stock. If they do, have them put it on hold for you. The Coach Outlets make no guarantees to their inventory so you may lose a really great deal or style simply because you did not act. The same principle applies for shopping at the outlet. Start at the Coach store so you have the largest selection of the day. If you touch the item and like it, keep it in your possession until you make your final decision. The item is very likely to disappear into another person’s possession during your shopping experience. If you do not see something you want, you can always ask the clerk if the store has it in stock. You never know when new shipments arrive.

And if you are at Edinburg, Indiana you may just find my Grandma helping me shop for my latest Coach purse. Come on over and visit this great purse blog.
