Coach Handbags - Designer Handbags That Won't Break the Bank
Coach is one of the best-known of the modern designer handbag makers. The company was created in a Manhattan loft back in the early 1940s. It is particularly well-known for its women's leather handbags, but it in fact produces a wide range of goods including luggage, wallets, and other accessories (belts, umbrellas, sunglasses, shoes, etc.), Coach even makes office furniture.
The latest range of Coach handbags is the Tribeca range. Why Tribeca ? Well Tribeca is apparently the latest trendy neighborhood in New York where global finance, rubs shoulders with the world of design and the arts. Coach's Tribeca range is described as versatile, lightweight and shoes. Coach says its handbags are "as 'covetable as a Tribeca loft'"! I have no idea how true that is as I have never seen a Tribeca loft, but you can see their latest handbags in the photos.
Coach Handbags are Affordable
New Coach Handbags
Coach handbags are but not cheap but nor are they ridiculously expensive, they are far more affordable than Louis Vuitton handbags for example. They are also extremely well-made, from high-quality leather and strong metal rivets. The leather used to make Coach bags is known as "glove-tanned" and over time changes color, giving it a rich, lustrous patina. Each new range or style incorporates special details such as hardware, double-needle stitching or bound edges.
If looked after properly Coach handbags will last well over 15 years. There are in fact some original Coach bags dating back to the 70s that are still in good condition even though they have been in regular use for over 30 years.
Coach Handbag Repairs
Coach are also very helpful, they will repair any of their bags, if you send your damaged bag back to them for a small fee, with a letter detailing the type of problem.
Coach's main designer was Bonnie Cashin and she brought about a revolution in the designer handbag sector. For years women had only had the choice between black or brown bags, now thanks to Bonnie Cashin they had the choice of new styles, new colors and new textures. In addition to this all the bags had wide openings and exterior pockets.
Coach were also the first to make use of hardware, especially the brass toggle for which Coach was to become famous.
Coach's bags are generally cheaper than those of other major designers due to the very long production runs that they use which gives them the benefit of economies of scale, and as a result increased profit margins. Coach also manufactures its products in countries such as China and the Dominican Republic, which also allows it to save money.
As a result Coach has gained a reputation for 'affordable luxury' whereas many other designer brands just aim for luxury at outrageous prices.
