Coastal Vacations Info
58When looking to get away to the beach or other coastal vacation, finding the right location and hotel are very important to insuring a good vacation, rather than a week long disaster. Making sure you are not the victim of a one of the many coastal vacation scams that are running out there, or if you are looking for a coastal vacation business opportunity, the right amount of research is needed. For most many families a coastal vacation may be to a favorite rental property of lodge that has been a tradition for many years. But what happens when the favorite house or hotel is no longer available? Maybe one year some other family got the week you were looking for first, and you have to look for another option. Having a great coastal vacation starts with plenty of online research, and browsing opportunities and information as you see it.
Coastal Vacations Leads
Finding the right lodging can be best determined by reading online reviews and promotional materials you see on the internet. You can also ask a property management person about referrals they may have from previous guests at their location. However, be careful, as some hotels and rental homes will have “regular referrals” they bonus with free stays for good reviews. If you are visiting a new coastal vacation town, look in the local newspaper for rental openings and consider using Craigslist too. When looking on Craigslist, make sure you search not only the site of the local town you are visiting, but also the site of the largest nearby cities. Many times people on the coast will post their ads on the nearest major city craigslist site because that is where the tourists come from.
When looking for a place to stay on your coastal vacation, also make sure you decide what lodging amenities are important to you and your family. This will make sure you don’t waste time on finding thr wrong kind of coastal vacation leads for lodging. Many considerations to make are whether you want your property to have an on-site pool, a full kitchen, how many bedrooms, nearby by dining locations, etc.
Coastal Vacation Scams
In recent years the internet has created a new kind of scam when it comes to coastal vacations. These con artists are not to be feared if you use the right kind of precautions when looking for a vacation home. First, do not be intimidated to send a large deposit to a home you like if you sense something uncomfortable. While you may really like the home you see in pictures, there are plenty others, and it isn’t worth the risk if something just doesn’t seem right.
Avoiding coastal vacation scams is also easily done by actually visiting the property you want to rent before your actual vacations. Many times a con artist will not want to meet with you personally, and by suggesting you meet at the house to deliver the deposit may scare the person off. While this option may not be available if your final destination is many miles away, you should still do your best to check previous user reviews, area chambers of commerce and other reliable businesses in the area to see if they have heard of the person you are dealing with. To avoid this hassle, many coastal vacation home owners have started to employ the use of a local realtor to handle the reservation process.
