Coconut Oil - food for the Prostate

Coconut oil added to your normal diet has huge benefits to your whole body, and it is readily available with a pleasant aroma and wonderful taste. Coconut oil has for many years been associated with healthy looking skin; but only recently, has it been connected to good prostate health namely: helping reduce the enlargement process as men age (BPH).

A study finished recently indicates that fatty acids in coconut oil may play a protective role in prostate health, reducing the size and weight of the gland normally associated with testosterone-induced prostatic hyperplasia. The “prostate-friendly” fatty acids found in coconuts are lauric and myristic acids.

If you read my introductory article on prostate health, then you will know that it is not my intention to delve too much into the technical aspects of what I say but to give you the information which is out there.

Some men don’t like the taste of coconut oil so they won’t be using it, but if you do like coconut, why not give it a go. I buy a good quality coconut oil, solid at room temperature, and take spoonful a day with my breakfast. In fact, the whole family can use it. It can also be used as a moisturiser and hair conditioner. But make sure the quality is good. A rule of thumb is to take the lid off and take a good smell. If you get that lovely coconut aroma, then you know it is a good quality oil and not rancid.

I will finish this article as normally do by banging on about the positive benefits that massage can have on your prostate. And I don’t mean the invasive internal type either. Just a simple piece of non medical kit that you sit on, fully clothed, is all you need. I really do think that every man over the age of 45 should have one of these it is that important.
