The Unending Search for Coin Magic Tricks, Card Magic Tricks and Illusions
56Performing magic tricks is exciting and can be profitable. Almost every "magician" starts performing magic as a hobby, with coin magic tricks and card magic tricks. There are even kids magic tricks available for the young magic adventurer. As the hobby becomes more serious, the novice magician moves into performing illusions. Every magician strives to find magic tricks that are different and unique for his or her audience. The more serious the magician, the more serious the search becomes.

The Unending Search Begins
Thus begins the unending search for magic tricks. It is important for every magician to have fresh material. This is even more important for the novice that performs, repeatedly, in the same geographical area. The novice will typically have a high percentage of repeat attendance when playing in the same area, thus requiring new magic tricks to keep his or her performance "fresh".
Every aspiring magician progresses at a different pace. Simple card magic tricks and easy coin magic tricks are the staple of the novice. Box magic tricks are also popular for beginners. As the novice gains confidence, the difficulty of the tricks increases, until the magician has developed a stable of tricks that will make up a "real" performance. Once this stage is attained, the search for new magic tricks is on!
The Goal of the Grand Illusions
The search does not end with success. The more successful a magician becomes, the more opportunities he or she will have to do repeat performances at the same venue. Regardless of geography, the more success, the more repeat performances. This causes an even greater need for fresh material. The more successful magicians will strive for even more sophisticated magic tricks. Even more motivating for the search is the need to be unique and differentiate the magician from the competition.
Eventually the learning magician will graduate to illusions. These are the crowd wowing kind of presentations that will be a springboard to bigger and better performances. Almost all of the "big time" performers are masters of the grand illusions. They baffle the audience, and are awe inspring to watch. The more grand the illusions the more captivating they are to the audience. Almost all illusions are based on some trick, AND that unrecognized distraction at just the perfect moment in the performance. Thus, only a very practiced and confident performer can pull off the grand illusions which wow an audience. Every performing magician has the dream of mastering a new and more grand illusion than any of the illusions being performed. The search continues!
Be Unique, Be Great!
The more successful the magician the more the performer migrates toward illusions. There are magic tricks specifically designed for stage audiences, as well as magic tricks designed for an "up close" audience. The more variability in the magicians material, the greater the demand becomes for "the search". The more successful a magician becomes, the more the magician works, and the more the need becomes for new, more advanced and more unique material.
Here is a good place to start if you are wanting to search for your own...
